Overcoming Failure: A Stepping Stone to Success

HOW TO OVERCOME FAILURE

Life is like a wave of an ocean. It is a track of ups and downs. Life becomes quite unfair sometimes, working hard the whole day and night just to achieve what we want. But sometimes, it does not end up as what we deserve or what our potential is. It can be disheartening to see others blessed with things they may not even be capable of. However, that is what life is all about—accepting our flaws, working harder next time, and finding joy in other people's success.

Without failure, you can never understand the value of success. In the journey of your life, you also need to go through many breakdowns and struggles. Failure is one of them that demises many dreams and breaks a person into pieces.

Failure is an inevitable part of life. It is something that cannot be avoided no matter what you do. It can be heartbreaking and demotivating, whether it is a drawback in your academics, business, lost opportunity, or personal disappointment.
However, it is important to recognize that it is not the end but rather a beginning to a new start.

But sometimes we just cannot do that because we are still hungover on the fact that we are humans and we do make mistakes.

Now I understand it hurts, a lot, to look upon your mistakes and reflect on them but it definitely does not mean that you would stop trying and instead start weeping and sobbing until you cannot.

Even if you do this, for how long would you weep, would you weep forever and keep regretting your failure instead of trying again with more dedication and level-up?

This does not mean that you hold control over your emotions, it would burden you, let all your emotions and feelings out by crying your heart out, and never think that you would be weak or weird by doing this, this is human nature, but somewhere you need to hold your feelings and accept your failure without hesitation as everybody faces it one day. It is okay to feel disappointed, sad, or angry once you fail but do not dwell on it for so long.

Build resilience and perseverance; it is better to understand earlier that even the most successful people like Steve Jobs, Jack Ma, Elon Musk, Michael Jordan, and J.K. Rowling once started as failures but now they are multi-millionaires and have inspired a bunch of hearts. If they can attain in life why cannot you? How hard could it possibly be, it could take a lot of tries, time, assiduousness, stressful days, and sleepless nights but in the end, it would be worth it.

Start working on yourself, start analyzing what went wrong, reflect upon your actions, decisions, and strategies, examine them, what kind of errors you made, and what not to do again. You would understand your strengths and weaknesses by analyzing the things that caused your failure. We need to remember that failure does not make us a loser, instead, it makes us an improver.

Face your defeats openly and do not let them define you.

Learn from failure and seek help;
when taking a look at your flaws, think of ways how these could be avoided in the future. There are so many things you can learn from failure, you start doing all your work with true dedication, effort, and a feeling of perseverance.

If you require help, ask for it, either from your friends, family, relatives, mentor, or colleagues. These people can also give you much-needed guidance, advice, support, and feedback.

Sometimes parents or relatives can be a little unsupportive, demotivating, or harsh on you once you experience a drawback in life. They may sometimes mock or taunt you but don’t let that stop you from doing what you love, what you are dedicated about.

If you believe you are right and you passionately want to do it, then just do it. Do not allow the negativity around you to win by stopping you from doing what you really wanted to. Give it another try, don’t get demotivated, and let that weaken your strength or else you will regret it later on in your life. It is people's job to mock and judge you in your good and bad. Some narrow-minded people never get happy and satisfied in any situation.

Reframe your thinking: Adapt a growth mindset,
and remember that success and failure are a part of life, with failure being the first step to success.

Defeat is not something you could ignore;
even the best of the best had once been defeated. Sometimes it is not even your fault causing this setback, maybe other people are more deserving, passionate, eager, or maybe have an unfair advantage or privilege. But you have to realize that when it would be the right time, you will get exactly what you want.

Embrace failure as a learning opportunity;
always remember that failure does not define us; the way we react to that situation is what does, and when we reach a successful position, nobody even remembers our weak points.

5 Important Rules to overcome failure:

1. Accept your failure instead of running away from it.
2. Have self-belief and confidence.
3. Improve yourself continuously.
4. Surround yourself with positive and motivated people (you become what you surround yourself with; energies are contagious, choose wisely).

Ask yourself: Why are you scared of failure? Why do you think about society's perception? Were those mockers with you in your tough times when you were facing a lack of motivation? Will you prove once again that you are capable of being an achiever?
